"Prior to surgery was stressful, surgery itself..."

About: Peterborough City Hospital

What I liked

The day surgery nursing staff and team were excellent, very professional and I felt cared for and respected.

What could be improved

Inter departmental communiscations made the process far more stressful than it needed to be

Anything else?

The hospital needs to urgently address the issue of smoking directly outside the front entrance, it is not plsant to effectively be walking through a cloud of smoke and wading through an ashtray to get to the building.

Thank you so much for taking the time to send us some feedback following your visit to Peterborough City Hospital. I am so pleased to hear that you were impressed with the Day Surgery Team and I will ensure that your kind comments are passed through to the team.

In respect of inter departmental communications I am keen to understand what problems you experienced and with that in mind if you would like to email me with more details I would be happy to use your feedback to help us improve our service for future patients. I can be contacted at lesley.crosby@pbh-tr.nhs.uk or you can telephone me on (01733) 677922.

In respect of your comments regarding smoking, as a Trust we are working hard to try and discourage people from smoking directly outside the front entrance. We have recently installed smoking shelters which are located some distance away from the main entrance as we realise that it is not acceptable for our patients to have to walk through a cloud of smoke. We are currently promoting the use of these shelters and we regularly ask patients and visitors to move away from the entrances and only smoke in the shelters. I am hopeful that if you do visit us again you will see that this issue has improved.

Once again thank you for taking the time to provide us with valuable feedback and I hope that you are now feeling better.
