"Feeling cared for in A&E"

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital / Accident and emergency North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust

(as the patient),

I was brought into A&E on a few days ago with pain in my groin, although I had been to North Staffs A&E the day before with the same complaint and sent home with no painkillers and told to take paracetamol as they said it was arthritis which I had never had before.

At Macclesfield the staff were extremely caring and another x-ray was taken and I was thoroughly examined and told I had a groin injury and given tramadol painkillers to take home, and advised to also take ibuprofen and paracetomol and once the pain was bearable to manoeuvre my leg a little at a time.

I was given a cup of tea and lots of sympathy and three days on the pain is manageable and I can now move my leg a little better without screaming.

I would like to say thank you so much for helping me as I know this was probably a minor complaint compared with other traumas that you have to deal with, but you seemed to understand how much pain I was in and listened properly unlike the North Staffs.

Please pass on my thanks to everyone concerned including the paramedics who brought me in and the lovely nurse who made me feel at ease and taken care of.
