About: Patient Opinion

(as the patient),

The Observer this Sunday, 30.09.12 had an article about feedback to your website.

I was amazed to read the article as I had frequently commented on care at Barnet Hospital and thought that PALS was the only way to do so. I had NEVER heard or read anything about the website Patient Opinion although I consider I am fairly well informed.

May I strongly suggest that you need to broadcast news of this website more widely: notices or leaflets in GPs' surgeries; A&E and Walk-in clinics; individual hospital departments; features on radio and tv, etc.

Dear Batsheva

Many thanks for your posting - and I'm glad you've found us at last!

We share your sense of frustration that we are not better known. It is important to understand that Patient Opinion is not part of the NHS, but an independent non-profit social enterprise. So we can make posters and leaflets freely available, as we do, but we have no power to have them displayed across the NHS.

That said, more and more NHS services are now seeing the value of Patient Opinion, and are letting patients and service users know about us.

If you can help us spread the word in Barnet, please do get in touch!

Best wishes

James
