"Referral to a physiotherapist for help to sleep more comfortably"

About: Locala Community Partnerships CIC

(as the patient),

I was referred by my neurologist to the physiotherapists as I have difficulty in turning over whilst in bed.

The physiotherapists arranged a home visit within 3 months of the referral and brought along some equipment which unfortunately wasn't suitable. We discussed my needs further and they came up with a different solution.

The new equipment was fitted within a couple of days, and has really helped. Despite the wait for the initial visit I was impressed by the service that the physiotherapists delivered.

Thank you for taking the time to post details of your experience on Patient Opinion. Your comments were passed to Rachel Galloway, Team Leader at the Jubilee Rehabilitation Centre, who has issued the following response;

"Thank you for telling us about your experience. It is the aim of our service to make people more independent and their lives easier. Whilst I am sorry that you had a 3 month wait initially, I am pleased that the assessment and provision of this equipment has made such a positive change to your quality of life. I'm pleased to report that due to reviews of the service, the wait for domiciliary physiotherapy is now 7 weeks. However, if the stated reason for referral is for equipment only, the waiting times is just a few days."
