What I liked
My son of 4 has been waiting 15 months for treatment of his stammer condition. I contact the hospital regularly and all they say is his on a waiting list and complain to customer services and they might do something.
My son of 4 (3 when he was assessed and it was confirmed he had a condition) and he has been waiting for treatment from the NHS for 15 months. We originally approached the doctors in June 2011 and still today he has not received any treatment.
I called the hospital yesterday to get an update on when he would be treated and also to explain that since starting infants school his condition has deteriorated and explained that sometimes its hard to communicate with him and as you can appreciate its hard to watch. I was promised a call back from the lady who took my call yesterday but i did not receive that call. Bulling has already started out side of school i.e. in wacky ware houses, social events etc How long is until children in his school who don’t understand his condition pick up on it as well and the older children in the playground?
If this happens be under no illusion I will take him out of school and I will contact the social services. If you know about stammering you would also know its best treated when the child is under five. No child should have to wait 15+ months for treatment it’s absolutely disgusting. His four years old and the NHS are already failing him and I don’t care about budget cuts this year etc I asked for help last year and as you can probably guess I am getting sick of it so don’t reply giving me that excuse.
I did phone the customer services line and they promised to call me back with feed back and guess what they didn’t call anyway. The NHS system just could care. I bet I don’t get a response to this email but be warned I will be taking my son out of school is the bulling occurs and will copy all correspondence from the school, cottage hospital, NHS customer services, houses of Parliament etc to the social services to show I am doing my part in getting treatment and see what they can do.
