"Stroke or not a Stroke?"

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill) / General medicine

(as a relative),

I have to share this experience - as a carer before the new year my mother had a stroke! I knew it was a stroke but the doctor in A & E dismissed my views and concentrated on the urine infection instead. He even discharged Mum after she vomited blood.

Needless to say at 5pm that night we were back in A & E. No one seemed to be bothered about the xray on my mother's head at all. In fact it was about 7 days before she had a scan - in between this we were told it was a brain tumour and if she recovers it was a Stroke! Mum is back home without any follow up procedures. No nurse to call. They have also undertaken a stomach op and caused problems with her foot - an Ulcer. no one has called to help at all! We are coping but its very annoying for the family to keep chasing doctors to get them to do their jobs. Have any of you had this experience?
