"Great for maternity services, not ideal for..."

About: Rosie Hospital

What I liked

The staff explained the procedure thoroughly and made me feel at ease. I had three blood tests in two hours as part of my Glucose Tolerance Test, and although I usually have terrible veins the member of staff didn't have any problems.

What could be improved

I went to the Rosie Outpatients Dept a couple of years previously for fertility peoblems and found it extremely difficult and upsetting sitting alongside bumps of various sizes when I was faced with the prospect of perhaps never being able to have children. I was advised that a new fertility clinic was being built and this would avoid infertile women sitting alongside heavily pregnant women. When I was there now I noticed there was still a lot of literature at the end of the waiting room about infertility and IVF, so I assume this patient group is still being assessed and treated in the Rosie. I think is far from ideal and in fact very insensitive.

Anything else?

I have attended Daphne Ward many times in this pregnancy due to early complications, and have found both the staff and service at Daphne Ward and the Outpatients Department excellent.
