"I was treated as if I was stupid"

About: St James's University Hospital

What I liked

Nothing in particular. The waiting time was not too bad, honestly I expected it longer.

The nurse was nice and polite.

What could be improved

I went to the hospital because I had my wrist really swollen and in pain due to a flare up of my arthritis, I don't have rheumatologist in UK and I really needed some relief because it was incapacitating me.

I was told off for not having a GP (I am from abroad) by three different persons: receptionist, nurse and doctor. The doctor really upset me, speaking to me as if I were stupid saying: "I can't cure your arthritis" Don't you say!! I know it is a chronic disease!

At the end he unpolitely told me to go register a GP.

They should have tell me from the start that they couldn't do anything for me there and would have leave and not spend 1h30min for nothing.

Anything else?

I will go register with a GP, wait for he/she to give me an appointment and then wait for a rheumatologist to give an appointment. Maybe in two weeks I can have my wrist fixed!
