About: Tameside General Hospital

What I liked

Nothing at all - it was a very stressful experience.

What could be improved

On 11/09/2012.i got chest pains and was sent to a&e by my doctor at approx 3.30 p.m. I then went to MAAU at approx 4.15 p.m. I eventually had my b.p. checked and some bloods taken (around 10-11 p.m.) and was then told to go back to the day room and wait to see a doctor. I enquired several times as to where I was in the queue and by 3 a.m. was still at no. 5 in the queue (when I had my bloods done I was at No. 6 in the queue). At this point I decided I could stand no more. My partner took me to a local supermarket for some Ibupropen as I had not had any pain relief since I was in triage many hours earlier and I was in pain. All in all I felt worse then when I arrived! I was also appauled to meet an 82 year old gentleman who was in MAAU from 3 p.m to 2 a.m. when he was finally transferred to a ward! What a disgusting way to treat such an elderly person!

Anything else?

You should look at replacing your Management and finding some who can organise things better. There is only room for improvement.
