What I liked
I visited Lymington Hospital a number of times at the start of 2012 due to my mother needing medical treatment she was admitted and stayed for 2 weeks and was placed on Longbeech. I visited her on a number of occasions and was very impressed with the quality of service from the nursing staff and the cleanliness of the ward was impeccable, the lady I saw cleaning even cleaned the small door stops she was very thorough in her cleaning and the ward was a credit to her and the hospital. However on a recent visit to see a friend on the same ward I was appalled to see the standard of cleanliness on the ward had dropped dramatically from the standard experienced in my visits in early 2012 the nursing staff were all very helpful and kind and friendly as before, I noticed the drop in cleanliness and commented on this to a staff member who replied the lady that cleaned the ward before had been moved. Having worked with my husband for a number of years within senior management roles for various multi national companies including the NHS I would suggest you monitor more closely how the wards are now being cleaned as the standard has in my opinion dropped dramatically.
What could be improved
Closer monitoring of how wards are cleaned would be an improvement with full dedicated training given to each staff member would lift standards. I would however still say that Lymington hospital in the main is a credit to the NHS and the local community are very lucky to have such a wonderful hospital.
"Early 2012 very impressed Aug 2012 no so impressed"
