About: The Royal London Hospital For Integrated Medicine

What I liked

Each time I visit the doctor he is warm, welcoming and listens to everything I say, I never feel rushed and I always feel like they genuinely understands where I am coming from. It is so wonderful to come to an environment that is aware of your needs. The advice given is never patronising. This is a doctor who understands their profession and duty of care. The team are excellent. They are humanistic and very professional. Before I was referred to his team I had been ill for a very long time. It took until having a DVT and Pulminary Embolism on the lung to being referred to a doctor who recognised I might have ME and then I was referred to RLHIM. This hospital has saved my life, I have felt so ill for 12 years and no doctors would listen to me despite me feeling chronically fatigued, dizzy and experiencing lots of falls. I am so fortunate to be treated by a team who are passionate about the combination of orthodox and integrated medicine and who genuinely care about their patients' well-being both physically and psychologically and their difficulties in being understood by the "system". I have been refused DLA, Freedom Pass because I am young, single and live alone. Other doctors will say they're too busy to help with an appeal but after talking with disability advocates who told me to appeal, the doctor is going to write a letter to help with my appeal. Their level of care and concern is consistent and I feel so fortunate to be treated by them and their team at RLHIM.

What could be improved

Most of us visiting the clinic have a form of CFS/Fibromyalgia but we need to queue a lot at the reception.

It might be useful to have an "in" queue for people attending appointments and an "out" queue for people wanting to make a new appointment for next time as often those attending an appointment have to stand in the same queue as those making one for next time and then they are late for their appointment.

Thank you very much for the kind comments about your visits to the Sleep Medicine Service at the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine. We are very pleased to hear you found the level of care excellent and consistent and that your health is much improved because of it.

Regarding your suggestion about how to improve the waiting times at the Reception, we are currently reviewing the situation.
