"Fantastic care from knowledgeable, caring midwives"

About: Queen Charlotte's Hospital

What I liked

After reading some of the feedback on here about the antenatal care, I was quite concerned about my first booking in appointment and arrived with some trepidation. I was worried further when I realised I'd forgotten all the forms I was supposed to bring and my letter! The gentlemen on reception was so friendly and understanding and made me feel completely at ease. A lot of the feedback talked about the long waiting times and although there was some waiting around, the letter had warned me to expect to be there for 3 hours and I was all done in 2 and a half hours. The midwife I met was absolutely lovely. She was incredibly knowledgeable and patient and let me ask all the questions I had. When I tentatively mentioned that I would like to talk about the possibility of a home birth (half expecting to be laughed at/shut down) she was unbelievably encouraging and positive and even put my husband at ease about it. The overall impression was that the staff were pleased and excited for me and although obviously busy, they were all caring and attentive. I was incredibly impressed and pleased with my experience and am looking forward to the rest of this journey with the staff at Queen Charlotte's.

What could be improved

I was very pleased with my experience and have absolutely no complaints. I left feeling happy and positive and excited
