"Appalling for old age pensioners to experience"

About: Northern General Hospital

What I liked

Having called the doctor for my 72 year old mum (16th august) who was having severe abdominal pains, was told to attend the clinic at the northern general hospital,as an appointment was made for her (7.30pm) my 74 year old dad took her in his car, the doctor examined her & was told two hours later she will have to be admitted through A&E department, they then had to go walk back to carpark to drive round to A&E in bad pain, i think this is appalling as she should have been taken by wheelchair or bed as anything could have happened to her once outside, they then got to A&E & was sat waiting half an hour before my dad had to go up to reception to tell receptionist that my mum was feeling ill & was just waiting to be admitted, the receptionist was very good & got her in straight away, the next morning after been seen by the doctor was told she may be able to go home after having an exray, they cancelled exray because mum had no pain at that time, hours later she was still waiting, my dad visited her at 2pm & still no word of if she could go home, her blood pressure was sky high because they hadnt given her blood pressure tablets, good job dad had sence to take them up to hospital, he left her after visiting time, got home & half hour later firth 4 rang to say she could come home, my dad complained & told them why didnt they say before he had travelled back home, he fetched mum home still with pain. An hour later hospital rang to say mum had forgotten her medication, (My mum had forgot) ?????. Im disgusted how they were both treat & im complaining so other old people dont get treat the same way. No communication at all & still no diagnosis..Disapointed in the nhs..

What could be improved

Everything i just said.

Anything else?

Im now scared my parents wont complain when their ill again thinking they cant be helped.
