What I liked
I went into Ward 8 with chest pains, they put me on a Heart Monitor, it turned out to be palpitations which at least put my mind at rest.
What I particularly liked was the fact that I was admitted before my own teatime and after the Ward's meal so by late evening was quite hungry, the night staff nurse got me a Sandwich straight away, they also put me in the bed nearest the window which was very helpful because I was very hot at the time.
The Doctors were round regularly, and while the Ward was not particularly busy the nurses were always there to help.
Anything else?
sometimes a person would feel a little silly if its a false alarm, but I was not left feeling like that by a caring staff who nevertheless attentitive and took the problem seriously....indeed the message I've taken out of this..is..if you are not sure get it checked out...it would be a lot sillier to ignore it and end up seriously ill or dead.
I've always been very anxious about hospital admissions in the past and it wasnt always like this..on past occassions my treatment was not as good...but these staff members have totally restored my faith in the hospital and the NHS.
As a person who has campaigned to save the hospital in the past this has made me more determined to support the Hospital remaining open
