"Impressed by staff but not cleanliness"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I underwent surgery last month at FV Hopsital in Larbert and was very impressed by the room and staff.

The only issue I had was that after my operation I noticed that there was dried faeces on the floor prior to entering the bathroom and all around the toilet area. There was no way I could avoid standing on the faeces to use the toilet.

I told a nurse around 2. 00pm and eventually told three other members of staff prior to leaving at 5. 30pm the same day.

The faeces were still present when I left.

I would have thought that this should have been dealt with as a matter of urgency as I had to walk on top of the faeces therefore spreading germs.

Thanks for your posting, I am sorry that this was your experience after your operation, this is in no way acceptable practice.

You are correct in saying that this should have been dealt with straight away. Would it be posssible for you to let me know which department you attended as i would like to bring this to the attention of staff and ensure that they are aware of correct cleaning procedures that are in place for contamination.

I would be happy to speak with you in person, or you could let me know which area you attended by sending a response to this posting

You can contact me via my mobile number - 07827820353

Thanks

Arlian
