What I liked

That I was correctly diagnosed

What could be improved

cleanliness- The bins was over pouring in the wards, the cleaner barely touched the floor.

bed space cleared when patient has left - I have a severe allergy to co-amoxoclav, and the previous patients medicines was left behind in the medicine cabinet ( which happened to be co-amoxoclav), Nurse took the tablets out the packet ready to give me this tablet luckily I noticed.

Nurse to liase with other nurses- The day nurse had gave me the injection in my stomache for blood clotting. she then didnt write it up in my records, and forgot to had gave it to me, then tried to give it to me again ( luckily I was aware of what was happening). The night nurse then started shift and tried to give me the injection once again as it wasnt logged.

On admittance to the hospital after GP admitted me, I was in a lot of pain and was asked to sit in a waiting area unable to drink or take pain killers, I was there for a total of 9 hours before being seen by a doctor. I asked if i was allowed to take my regular medicine ( for severe anxiety attacks) was told by the nurse that i wasnt allowed to take the medication. I then experienced an anxiety attack whilst waiting to be seen again.

Finally I was given a bed 7 hours later without no pain killers or water, Was assured I was going into theatre that night and someone would come and fit me a drip. This happened the next morning ( another 8 hours later) so a total of 17 hours without water, a drip or my regular medication and any pain killers)

I was moved to a different ward everyday due to a shortage of beds which then meant the nurses didnt understand everything that had happened.

I wasnt monitored after surgery which meant they didnt noticed i had a allergy to the medication given to put me to sleep, which caused my oxygen levels to drop rapidly and was on constant oxygen for four days.

There is plenty more I could say about my trip to the hospital. I would not be going here for a overnight stat in a hurry.

Anything else?

However the A&E department was excellent, very quick, sign posted well. No bad feedback at all, if only the wards I visited was the same.
