What I liked

I took my 5 day old daughter here as I was concerned she may have had diarrhoea and wanted to get her checked.

The first nurse we saw was nice enough and we got seen within 30 minutes. That's the only nice thing I can say.

What could be improved

The staff and equipment were equally bad as each other.

We were told our daughter had lost more than 10% of her weight and had to be kept in, they also wanted to test for jaundice so wanted to do a heel prick.

The peadeatrition treated us like we were a piece of dirt and accused us of not feeding our child. She then attempted 6 heel pricks causing our child extreme discomfort for over half an hour when I decided to refuse treatment and left to go to Queens instead.

During the heel pricks, the peadeatrition looked to be man handling our child and kept telling us that she feels no pain even though she was going blue in her face from crying so hard. She started the procedure without even having the correct equipment at hand hence why she repeated the prick several times and still did not manage to complete it. The peadeatrition also wanted to keep the baby I overnight and spoke to us in an awful tone when we said we had not yet purchased a breast pump!

At Queens we discovered our baby's weight was perfectly fine, meaning that the scales at King Georges were inaccurate (inaccurate by over 300 grams!). The peadeatrition at queens managed to draw blood from one heel prick and our baby did not look in discomfort at all.

We went to King Georges at 12am and left at 3.30am.

Anything else?

I would recommend anyone with children to drive the extra 15 minutes to Queens in Romford if you want proper care.
