What I liked
My partner was admitted to the Central Middlesex hospital for an operation. He and I was pleased at how well he was looked after by the Doctors and Nurses there, especially by a very dedicated nurse who went out of her way, which was very much appreciated, the care and understanding she gave it showed. I felt at ease to know that I could go home and I did not have to worry if he was not been treated well. I could not have thank them enough for such a good experience.
I said to my husband he was lucky to have had his operation at the Central Middlesex hospital, if he had been admitted to another known hospital he may not have received the same treatment.
The staff members showed empathy, understanding and they had time for the patients. Also they listened and did not hurry the patients and their family members.
What could be improved
I was dissapointed when I made a telephone call to the hospital ward at the Central Middlesex
hospital to speak to a member of staff. The telephone was answered by the hospital
clerk on the front desk. As I began to explain the nature of my call this woman became defensive and arrogant and kept on speaking over me, I could not quite get a word in edge way, so I had no choice but to end the call as I did not want to listen to her rude and unecessary behaviour. I decided to leave calling back for a few minutes, when I telephoned the second time, unfortunately for me the same person answered and her manner had not wavered in the slightest.
As a first point of contact to the hospital ward it is so important that the recipient should of answered the telephone in a curteous and proffessional manner. Unaware, the person on the other end of the line could of been anybody even of importants , or maybe just testing individual wards etc to see the type of response they would of received. Unfortunately for me I was the one that felt the wrath of her tongue on this particular day.
I would not of classed her as a walking advert on behalf the NHS ?
Anything else?
I was not happy about the toilet was not been cleaned, I brought this to the attention of the nurse. While I was there a cleaner went into the bathroom flushed the toilet and left. When I checked she had not cleaned the toilet, it was the same condition as the day before.
Underneath the bed was dusty, you could see the dust.
"Good"
