What I liked
Hard to say I liked anything about my recent visit to the A&E department. The enviroment could have been a welcoming place with a little TLC.
What could be improved
On arrival was welcomed by a friendly member of staff but on heading to the waiting room it was filthy with bottles, plates and rubbish strewn all over the place. The 3 staff on reception did not seem to take any pride in their enviroment as even though there were no other patients in the hour that I sat there they did not attempt to tidy the enviroment.
There was also little empathy with their patients as even though I rushed to the toilet to be sick and stayed there for a considerable time no checks were made.
On entering the A&E the cubicle looked clean on the surface but on further review (After I had been connected to the monitors and then left alone for 30mins with no explanation) I noticed dried blood and dust on the trolley and cubicle area. This in my opinion is a potential infection control issue.
"Disappointing service with cleanliness issues."
