What could be improved
My mother is a 90 year old woman, lives in a care home and has been suffering from stomach pains for several months. Blood tests have failed to show any reason for the pain so she had an appointment to have an MRI scan. With the letter showing time, date and what dept to go to she arrived in her wheel chair, by ambulance to be told she needed a blood test 1st and was sent back to the care home (her doctor said this was rubbish as she had a blood test showing nothing wrong hence the scan.) She waited another 6 weeks in considerable pain went back with the letter showing the new time, date etc. to be sent home again! having being told she would need to go to Hillingdon Hospital at a later date for the scan. What an appalling way to treat a frail old lady in pain and very frightened as she is convinced she has cancer!
Anything else?
I will be contacting my mothers MP as the hospital seams incapable of offering my mother any sort of compassion or common dignity in their dealings with her.
"A disgusting way to treat anyone let alone a frail..."
