What could be improved

Same Sex wards in AAU

Not being moved from my bed 3 times so that they could use it for another patient, one time being at 11:45 at night

Nurses understanding Gluten Free diets and what relation that has to diabetes, I can't eat a sandwich for a meal because im allergic to bread, and i cant have salad, since it has no carbs. I was there for 2 days and i was offered these meals at every meal time

Extra food being on the ward- i had 2 hypos whilst there as they couldnt obtain a piece of fruit for me till the next meal time

being woken up at 6am after a restless night because i was moved

Disruptive and violent patients being moved

Thankyou for offering feedback of your patient experience. From what we can gauge, this is mainly an account of our Acute Admissions Unit (AAU), rather than A&E at Watford General.

We are always concerned to hear of any patients who are unhappy with the care and service they have received.

Issues of this nature are taken very seriously. The importance of a wholly positive patient experience is one of our key objectives, and the issue of communication between our staff and patients is a fundamental area we’re working hard to improve in. Clearly your dietary requirements were not addressed appropriately too.
