About: Colchester General Hospital

What I liked

Freindly professional teamwork. Always available to help me. responsive to my questions, feelings and sense of humour. Not intrusive if I wanted to be alone.

What could be improved

The food was the only complaint I had . It was dry and tasteless and the only plate of food I enjoyed was the one labelled 'chef prepared' cottage pie which was moist and tasty. e.g.' fruit cake' is not a vaguely flavoured dry piece of lemon sponge ( a small finger was a portion and there was no dried fruit in it as I expected). This did not help a) recovery or b) the digestive system to get back to normal after an abdominal operation. This then resulted in the need for laxative medication (so additional costs to the NHS).

Anything else?

The people/person responsible for obtaining the food should be made to eat it for a day, especially if they are feeling a bit off-colour.
