"Referral not accepted"

What could be improved

I went to see my GP due to some Fluid retention. He was very helpful and advised me that he would need to refer me to hospital for some tests. He rang the ward and asked to speak to the Sister.

He told her my symptoms, medical history etc. At the end of the conversation she asked for my name, then she said I would need to see my GP.

Now am I missing something here I was at the registered GP surgery and he wanted me to see my GP. This just doesn't make any sense. He was referring me because he was concerned that due to my medical history and symptoms I needed to be seen ASAP.

Later this evening I was told I would have to be referred again, but there is still uncertainty if they will accept the referral.

MKUCS were helpful the nurse said they should of accepted the referral.
