"A positve one"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

What I liked

I found most of the staff were very caring and attended to my needs very well. Some staff when they came on duty introduced themselves and informed they were caring for me i found this very reasssuring. If all staff did this as part of their duties i feel this would put each patient at their ease and begin a rapport with their patient. i found all staff were very happy in their work chatting and helpful. One member of the team serving the meals offered to change my meal if i wasn't happy with it (the potato looked overcooked but was edible). I would also like to thank the team who deal with the meals as i personally found the meals very tasty and had no complaints in that department.

What could be improved

Staff to be more communicative and don't just look at the patient as another procedure to be booked in or performed on.Listen to their patient. Keep them informed of what is happening.

Anything else?

My general experience for my emergency admission was a positive one ,Should i have to come into hospital again i feel fairly confident i would be dealt with caringly and sensitively.

Thank you for your time and providing us with this useful feedback. I have shared the positive elements of your experience and asked, as you suggest, that all staff ensure they take the time to introduce themselves to patients at an early stage.
