What I liked
I was treated as a 'day patient' and the care and attention I received was second to none. From the initial moment I arrived, until I left later the same day, I was incredibly impressed with the whole experience. I was very nervous about going in to hospital, as I had never had an operation/been in hospital previously - (I'm 62) - and although I found it daunting, everyone was absolutely wonderful to me - the Nurses on D1, the young person who walked me to Theatre, the Anaesthetist and all the staff in the pre-op room I was in and most importantly the doctors for sorting out my Bunionectomy/Chevron Osteotomy. Also the nurses in the Recovery Room.
I was impressed once back on the ward to get a really nice cup of tea. After 'sorting me out' and having had something to eat I was allowed home - I was grateful to be leaving but cannot explain how much I appreciated the care and attention shown to me.
Yesterday I had my stitches out and saw the same doctor - I was delighted to see them again albeit it after the event so to speak. I'm due back as an outpatient in 4 weeks time, but will always regard the whole experience as a 'good one', particularly as you have all sorted out my problem for me. THANK YOU ALL.
What could be improved
For me personally nothing.
Anything else?
I shall be writing personally to the doctors to thank them for their work, but would be grateful as there were so many other people involved if you could convey my thanks and gratitude to all concerned.
I hope I never find myself having to be in hospital, but if I did I would certainly not be worried about our hospital - it's great. A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO YOU ALL.
Regards
Lynn Martin
