What could be improved

I had been waiting for an appointment to come through for an MRCP scan. When it came it was for exactly the same time as another appointment for a different scan at a different hospital. I rang the radiology department to explain this and was asked why I couldn't attend. I explained and then was told in in uncertain terms that I would receive another appointment within 6 weeks.

I don't see that I could have a much more genuine reason for not being able to attend and in fact if this meant I then went to the bottom of the waiting list again, I don't really see why I was asked for the reason that I could not attend.

Why do I have to wait another 6 weeks - it's not as though I just didn't turn up. Who knows if I will be able to make the next appointment when it comes through in 6 weeks time? This really does seem the most shambolic system!
