About: Leeds Dental Hospital

What I liked

I liked my first dentist as he was very understanding and spoke to me about the process of my brace fitting.

What could be improved

I had my braces on for 3 years. This process started in June 2009 and before i had them fitted i was told what they were going to do and that it would only take 18 months. 18 Months later i was told the process was no where near done and i had to keep them on however there was no information on how long i would have them on for. Then my dentist who i thought was very helpful and informed me on everything, left. I then had another helpful dentist however he didnt explain much to me. It got to September 2011 and i told the orthodontist that i was going to work away in summer for 3-4 months therefore my braces need to be off in case of any accident or breakage, even though they should have been off already! To hurry the process up they started seeing me every 4 weeks instead of every 7-8 weeks. This was working well. It got to January 2012 and I reminded them again i was going away and they seem to have forgotton which i was unhappy about. I was going away and they said 'Yes they will definitely be off before your 18th birthday (june) and before you go away to work'. I wish this was true! It got to May time and my braces were still not off and they were not intending taking them off. My dentist at the time was away on study leave and I had to see a lady that i had never seen before therefore she was new to my mouth and could only see what was going on through my notes, which were incorrect. I asked for my braces off and she said they were not 100% ready to come off however she could take them off so i said yes. At the begining of my process i was told my teeth would be cleaned and polished and that i needed caps (venears) fitted. The lady that i saw said there were no notes about this and they couldnt do anything like that. I was devestated after waiting 3 years for this! Appalling customer service!

Anything else?

This was a horrific experience and I hate this place! Never again, no matter how many letters i receive through the post about appointments, will i go back now my braces are off.
