What I liked
For someone who has always hated needles and hospitals, I was so impressed with Glenfield. For starters, it was clean and didn't have the stereotypical medical 'smell' that is associated with hospitals. From the paramedic who collected me from my house, to the staff conducting my operation, to the nurses and support staff in the two wards (including the trainees) everyone came across as keen to provide a first class service to their customer - by this, I mean they treated me as an individual (not processing me), spoke to me with respect, and each conveyed a warm bedside manner. I was surprised at the different people who dealt with me, but they all came and went like clockwork. Even after my MRI scan (which I was nervous about) the doctor took the time to talk me through the results, which I found invaluable.
Even now I am home, I am confident that the excellent service will continue into my rehabilitation.
I am 42, thought I was fit and healthy, and had a heart attack.
