"Impressive"

About: St James's University Hospital

What I liked

I had a laparoscopy in a private hospital, was not offered anti-emetic with anaesthetic & was invited to leave only 4 hours after operation. At St. James, the anaesthetist consulted me properly, I had no nausea afterwards, and - apart from some delay getting painkillers from the nightshift staff - the care was excellent throughout. My compliments and thanks to the staff.

What could be improved

It seems a little odd that only one nurse on duty was allowed to give pain relief. Another patient in the ward had to wait two hours in considerable pain before getting relief.
