What I liked
I had some very unpleasant surgery to my eyelids & everyone from a cleaner who helped me find my way round a hospital I'd never visited before thru the reception staff, nurses to the surgeons treated me with such kindness & consideration that it took the edge off my fears & stress/tension that I was feeling.
What could be improved
The signage from the entrance I found was non-existent. it was outpatients B which I have since found out was not the main entrance and day surgery never got a mention. eventually a cleaner put me on the right track but it added unnecessary stress.
part of the problem was the failure of the hospital to supply a location map when requested (other hospitals don't need to be asked even) much less a plan or advice which way to come in.
the basis of the problem is that locals know all of this but it's increasingly necessary to travel to places you've never set foot in before and the trust needs to get a grip of this truth and stop assuming that everyone knows what they know!
Anything else?
on the medical side, don't change a thing
"a nasty procedure made bearable by great staff!"
