"A positive experience with an unfortunate ending."

About: Southampton General Hospital

What I liked

My husband was a parient on the coronary unit at Southampton general Hospital. He required major surgery and the surgeons and staff were prepared to give an 89 years young man the chance to live, which was all he wanted. Unfortunately due to unexpected difficulties he did not survive but I will be forever grateful that everyone involved in his care did eveything possible to try to make the outcome successful. Not only did they look after him they also took every care of both myself and our family and, I consider, went above and beyond what could be expected of them. I would thoroughly recommend the hospital to anyone. Their budgets, as all NHS hospitals are tight but that was never a consideration in my husbands' treatment. Everything that could possibly be required was available to him. Thank you all.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide this positive feedback about our cardiac services. Our sympathies are with you and your family at this sad time. We will ensure the staff on the unit receive your positive comments about the standards of their care and treatment.
