What I liked

Generally, I like that i was able to have the examination I needed, done by an extremely professional consultant with admirable delicacy. One of the nurses also was making every effort to make me feel at ease in what is after all an unpleasant situation.

What could be improved

This is what I didn't like: one of the nurses - the one who was tasked to stand by me so I suppose was meant to look after me - spent pretty much the whole time talking across me to the other nurse. She was concerned with a noise she could hear that was nothing to do with me or what was happening to me but which she clearly thought was more important. She even carried on talking when the consultant was talking to me - I had to ask him to repeat what he said as I couldn't hear him for her talking. I guess after you have attended so many colposcopies the people on the table just turn into slabs of meat but we aren't. We are at the very least anxious and concerned and deserve to be treated as people, not as incidental bystanders. She was very unprofessional.

Anything else?

Directions to the clinic could have been more visible and the 3/4 hour late running of the clinic could have been flagged up earleir.
