What I liked
From referral by my GP through Endoscpy, scans, consultant and the chemotherapy day case and radiotherapy units. From receptionist to support staff, consultants and medical treatment teams they have all been amazing., I have been met nothing but unfalteringly cheerful informative caring peopel throughout. All this has taken place in lovely clean modern surroundings which when you're at a low ebb and worried about this diagnosis of cancer suddenly dumped in your lap it really does make a difference. I beleive too that using the newly built units the transfer if information between departments make for a very efficient service - so far so good for me anyway.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the City Campus to anyone and only hope - but doubt it - that I can eventually have my operation here.
What could be improved
Oncology outpatients tends to be very busy and appointment times go by the board which when they over run by a couple of hours it can be a bit tiring if you are not feeling well , but given the volume of patients to be seen it is hard to see how this can be improved. Maybe if patients could be kept informed of potentially long delays it would allow them to take a short break outside, visit the cafe without fear of missing the appointment time.
