"Excellent medical team, shocking administration"

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

What I liked

Appointment was on time

What could be improved

Appointment system. I had a mammogram and was given a card which told me to make an appointment for a weeks time to discuss the results. I asked the receptionist about this and was told that I had to ring in to make an appointment. I did this on returning home and the first date available September 26th, over three months away. This raises two concerns:

1. Why was I unable to make an appointment while in the hospital.

2. If a follow up appointment is required why was it not made automatically with the one for the scan

Anything else?

My experience over the last ten years has been of an excellent medical team who are let down by the administrative systems that should be supporting them.
