What I liked

I was admitted to Frenchay Hospital on the 22.04.2012 and discharged on 09.05.2012. I spent most of my time on Ward 203.

The staff here were excellent, the quality of nursing care was excellent and the patient care was the best I have encountered. I cannot but highly recommend the quality and kindness of the nurses who made you feel that you were important. If hospitals were graded like hotels then Frenchay would be at least a 5 star category.

I have only one small complaint - the food was tasteless, perhaps we could arrange for the "Hairy Bikers" to visit to prove that limited budget does not mean food has to be bland and tasteless. apart from thet litlle moan North Bristol NHS should use Frenchay as a flagship to show their other failing hospitals what can be done.. Well Done and thanks to all the staff.

I have passed on your kind comments to the staff of Ward 203 and the other areas that were involved in your care during your stay.

I am sorry that you found the food to be tasteless. Good food is a challenge for any hospital, and I know the catering manager and staff work hard to deliver a variety of healthy food using local ingredients, whilst also meeting the special dietary requirements of many patients, and they have won a number of awards. Sadly mass catering however will never compare to home cooking, but I am sure we would welcome a visit from the hairy twosome and would be grateful for Si and Dave’s particular take on gastronomy.
