"Satisfactory."

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary

What I liked

Even though the Waiting Room was full and staff were very busy we were kept informed about waiting times. Staff were efficient, friendly, polite and attentive.

Anything else?

While I was being examined by one Doctor another Doctor kept coming in and interupting the consultation. I thought she was rude and felt she was undermining the Doctor I was with, she made me feel uncomfortable.

Thank you for taking the time to post your ratings and comments on NHS Choices regarding your recent visit to the Eye Casualty department at the RVI. The Trust is committed to providing a high quality service and staff in the Eye Casualty department will be greatly encouraged by your kind remarks with regards to efficiency and friendliness.

With regard to your appointment it is disappointing to hear that your initial positive experience of the service was spoilt by the interruptions of another member of staff during your consultation with the Doctor. We are unable at this point in time to identify exactly who the member of staff is but the department are investigating this and have passed on the concerns you have raised regarding this matter. Please accept apologies on behalf of the Eye Casualty department and the Trust for any anxiety or distress caused by the interruptions during your consultation. If you would like to provide further details of your visit so that we can investigate your concerns and speak to you directly, please do not hesitate to contact Ms Sue Cook, Matron, Eye Casualty or Mr Paul Anderson, Patient Relations Manager via the main hospital switchboard on 0191 233 6161
