"A good team making great effort for me."

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

What I liked

The consultant's registrar was very informative,He kept me updated every day which gave me great confidence during my stay . The hospital was the cleanest i have ever stayed in, and I have unfortunatlt been in many.

On the day of my departure the nurse in charge of the deperture lounge did a wonderful job ,she was under a lot of pressure with 8 of us in her care,.she sorted out porters, medications, meals, drivers, and kept us all entertained till we departed.

What could be improved

I was on Digswwell ward at the very end ,So at meal times the food was luke warm.I know this is a problem as it takes time to serve the patients. But it would help if the food started at the other end on alternate days ,so we would have a hot meal every other day..

Many thanks for your feedback and we're glad that your experience of the QEII was so good. We'll make sure that your kind words are fed back to the teams involved - we're sure that they'll be delighted to read them.

We will also pass your comments on to the catering team - although a note for the future: should you find yourself in a similar situation (and for all the right reasons we really hope you don't!), think about asking to speak with the catering team. We know that they welcome such feedback from patients as it gives them a chance to check how meals are being served at the time as the systems are designed to retain heat so that meals are served in the right way.
