"Queens Maternity Service - Surprisingly Excellent"
Posted by tufffy (as ),
I was rushed into Queens Hospital Romford in an ambulance at the start of the month with severe dehydration and urine infection.
I'm well into my second pregnancy.
I was extremley anxious about the treatment that I would recieve once at the hospital.
However, to my very pleasant surprise the staff were excellent very caring and efficient. I was rushed straight through to triage, did not have to wait in the waiting area for longer than 2/3 minutes (and this was only because they had requested a urine sample upon arrival). I was then placed straight on to a bed and the staff began to monitor me. Baby's hearbeat was detected and my blood samples were taken within minutes.
I was then told that my blood and urine samples were to be sent to pathology and results would be reviewed by the Doctor who then came to see me within the hour with my results..
Doctor kindly explained that I was dangeroulsy dehydrated and had a urine infection.
It was explained that I was to be put on the drip and given a course of antibiotics, and that I would have to be admitted to a post natal ward for the night.
A very kind midwife came almost immediatley and placed a very large needle in my hand for the drip.
I was then moved to the ward and left to rest for the night in order to allow the medication to take effect.
Post natal ward is very calm and relaxing each room has four beds with an ensuite. One 2 one care was offered and I felt I was is capable hands.
Overall, very through and caring service.
