"Still waiting for my appointment"

About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as the patient),

I am convinced my appointment would have gone through faster if the TRAQs would not have got involved (another waste of money in my opinion)

I was given new cross hospital. I cannot travel so you just left me and that’s not good enough.

I have a relative who is an MP and I am writing to them to pass on to the health minister.

I have had my heart complaint now for a year and this is bad to be mucked about like this

I feel TRAQS is a waste of time, I am still waiting for appointment.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comment, I’m sorry that you are disappointed and find that TRAQs is a waste of money. TRAQs is a service that serves the whole population of Telford and Wrekin.

We would have received your referral from your GP and within 5 days (if it is considered a routine referral) we would have acted on it. We will contact you and discuss the waiting times of available hospitals appropriate for you to be seen in, if there are no appointments available then this is because the hospital don’t have any, it is not because of TRAQS. Previous to TRAQS your referral letter would have been sent to the hospital, again if there were no appointments you would still have to wait for one to become available. What TRAQS does is try to provide you with choices available elsewhere, you do have the right to Choose which hospital you go to and we can support that, but TRAQS have no control on whether there are hospital appointments available or how long you have been waiting for a referral, this is down to your GP and the hospital.

If you would like to discuss this further. Please do not hesitate to contact me on (01952) 580364.
