"Heart by-pass operation and care before, during and after"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency Uch at Westmorland Street / Cardiothoracic surgery

(as a relative),

At 8. 30am in early June 2012 my husband rang our GP asking for an appointment because he had pains in his chest. He was given an appointment for 8. 50. At 9. 10 he had an ECG. By 9. 50am he went into the A and E department at East Surrey Hospital.

That evening he was told he would need an Angiogram and possible stent. He had this procedure the next working day and was told he needed at least a double heart-by-pass. During his stay until he went to the Heart Hospital in Westmoreland Street for his operation we had nothing but praise for his nursing care by the team responsible in Chipstead Ward and the Angiogram Suite.

Thank you for your kind comments about our teams in the Chipstead Clinic and Angio Suite. I will pass your words onto them.
