The service (Edwards Myers Centre) was recommended to me by my support worker at East Cheshire Alcohol Services. I had never done a detox (alcohol) before and found the thought of it quite daunting and a bit scary but knew it was something I had to do.
As soon as I arrived I was made to feel very welcome and all the staff were very friendly. The centre was very clean and tidy as was my room. I was informed very clearly about the rules and regulations and what to expect during my stay here, as was the medication, assessments and support that I would be given. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and I felt I could talk to any member of staff if I was in need of anything or if I had any questions.
I had a very pleasant experience under the circumstances and would recommend the service to anyone who needed it.
I have come out a stronger and more positive individual been given the right tools and now it's down to me to use them.
