"Excellent care from midwives at Manor Hospital"

About: Manor Hospital / Maternity West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust

(as the patient),

I went into premature labour on 6 June 2012 when my waters broke suddenly and unexpectedly at home. I had to call an ambulance as my waters had gone and contractions were becoming rapid! The ambulance staff were brilliant from start to finish and kept me calm and reassured during a scary and traumatic time. The ambulance crew were fantastic and I felt safe and in good hands.

I was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital where my daughter was delivered. Following her very swift arrival I was admitted to the Primrose Ward where both my daughter and I received excellent care from the midwives. I felt that the midwives cared and was given pain relief for after pains promptly. They explained to me that my daughter had to be transferred to Neo-natal due to her jaundice and poor feeding and although I was upset that I would be separated from her I felt confident in the care she would receive.

In particular, the student midwives were very good in both their professional care and their attitude and general manner. The midwives attended to our needs and even helped me by taking my baby and feeding her whilst I slept.

The food was nice (for hospital food) and the ward was nice and clean. I would have a baby here again if I ever get pregnant again. Special thanks to student midwives Naomi, Melissa and Emily, midwives Esther, Natalie, Jean Patel and a blonde m/w who herself was expecting and who's name escapes me! (baby brain lol). Also the catering and cleaning staff who were friendly.

Well done to all! you are a credit to the NHS! ! ! ! ! ! !
