"A&E and Cardiology ward, Western infirmary, Glasgow"

Recently, I developed atrial fibrillation and dialed 999. The ambulance crew came quickly from Balfron. They were very efficient but kind and reassuring too, and made me feel I was in safe hands. The resuscitation unit was expecting my arrival and got swiftly to work, which was reassuring. Everyone introduced themselves and explained what they needed to do.

I was then admitted without delay to the cardiology ward (F4) where again the care was excellent. Not just on the clinical side but a good dose of kindness and attentiveness too. Everything was explained to me and I was given ample opportunity to ask questions. I really appreciated the staff nurse (Nicola? ) who came back after the doctors had been round to give me an opportunity to chat things through and ask more questions. On recovering, my discharge was fairly quick and smooth. The place seemed to be very clean too.

And was there any way that it could have been improved? A minor point but I would have appreciated being offered a sleeping pill. I never thought to ask for one.

Overall, excellent care. All the staff were a credit to the NHS and thanks to all involved.
