Absolutely awful treatment! Took my nan in with suspected DVT receptionist was rude, no communication at all, kept getting moved around from the waiting area to a cubical without being told why, nurse practitioner began texting whilst examaning my nan, sat 5 hours without being offered any sort of drink (when suffering DVT you should drink plenty of fluids)! ! We found the registrar rude and unhelpful. Waste of time! Extremely disappointed!

Dear Frustrated Granddaughter, thank you for your posting on the Patient Opinion web site.

We were very concerned to learn of your account of how your Nan was treated when recently referred to our Medical Assessment Unit on B1, please accept our apologies that your Nan was not offered a drink and that you felt staff were neither courteous nor offered explanations as to what was happening.

Whilst we have shared this with the Matron for the ward, to allow us to address your concerns effectively, we do need your Nan’s name and consent, so would be very grateful if you could contact our Patient Services department 01709 424461.

In the meantime we do hope that your Nan’s medical needs were met and that she is alright.
