"Fantastic Nurse at Dumfries and Galloway"

About: Newton Stewart Hospital

(as the patient),

I referred myself to the incontinence nurse Lynn Wright at Newton Stuart Hospital in Dumfries and Galloway. I found Lynn to be welcoming, understanding of my problems which she acknowledged and after years of being displayed as 'my age' I feel Lyn is determined to help me find a solution. A weight has been lifted from my shoulders and I feel more positive and determined to improved matters, as I know Lynn is behind me 100%. I cannot thank or praise her enough for this support.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. The continence team was very pleased to read your kind words about Lynne's clinic, feedback is helpful be it positive or negative but stories such as yours give the staff a real boost so thank you again!

One of the challenges all of the continence nurses face is to encourage people to make contact when they have a bladder or bowel problem as, often, they struggle to share this with anyone. It's only when patient's take the brave step of picking up the phone or asking to be referred to the clinic that they realise that with the nurse's support, advice, guidance and encouragement the problem can often be solved or at the very least, managed more suitably. I'm sure your story will give other people the confidence to make this step.

Thank you.
