"I don't think they were told about the severity of the case"

About: Emergency ambulance service (Wiltshire)

(as a carer),

I recently rang 999 for a patient at our nursing home at 7: 20. They asked if I thought it was urgent and did I think they needed “lights and sirens” or could they arrive in anything up to an hour. As it was breathing problems I said I didn’t think the patient could wait but it still took 50mins for the ambulance to arrive.

The paramedics were concerned that they had not arrived sooner after they had seen the patient which makes me think that they had not been told the severity of the case. If they had they may have wanted to arrive sooner.
