My mother in law was in Lightburn Hospital recently and I was surprised to hear that she did not get her nightime medication, including sleeping tablet, until 11. 30pm and sometimes later. As she is 97 years old and was recovering from a hip replacement, she was understandably exhausted and desperate to get to her bed and sleep. She was afraid to go into bed and try to sleep as she would have been disturbed and has difficulty sleeping at the best of times. I accept that the NHS is suffering from cut backs and subsequently, staff shortages but can you expplain to me why she should have to wait to such a ridiculous hour for medication.
"Why did my mother-in-law have to wait so late for her medication?"
