"Breast Surgery at Castle Hill"

About: Castle Hill Hospital / Plastic surgery

(as the patient),

Following mastectomy and immediate reconstruction last year, I returned to Castle Hill Hospital on Monday for lipomodelling (the next phase of the process). I would imagine that most people may say it's too early to judge its success, although it wouldn't be too early to say if I feel disappointed in any way.

I think we all have high expectations of health care especially surgery and often believe that, with advancing technology and everything we want at our finger tips, treatment and care should be perfect. So, what I want to relay is just how amazing the results are already - true there is still the swelling to factor in - but again my Consultant Miss McManus has exceeded my expectations.

Her assured demeanour doesn't mean that you are just another patient; to me it says are going to be treated by one of the best with a real passion for the best outcome for the patient. In my opinion she knows exactly what she wants to achieve and gets on with it without fuss. Miss McManus showed great attention to detail and is clearly a perfectionist. In my experience, whatever you are going through you have her assurance and expertise on your side. Remarkable.

5 years on and it still doesn't look like this has been read. With all the talk about low staff morale, I would have thought that this sort of thing would be of some significance otherwise what it the point?!
