"Being told I'd need IVF, and then walking away"

About: University Hospital (Coventry) / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

Nov 10, I had a hysteroscopy under general anaesthetic to assess patency of my one remaining fallopian tube, following a history of ectopic pregnancy.

Whilst in the recovery room alone I was told by the registrar; who stood at the bottom of the bed (I presume as it wasn't the consultant); to wake up and then told me I was going to need IVF. He then walked away, not waiting for a response (not that I could have given one); without even consideration as to the impact that this would have.
