"why do you need an appointment for a walk in centre?"

About: Knowsley NHS Walk-in Centre, Huyton

(as the patient),

I have had to go to the walk in centre at Nutgrove Villa a few times recently (rather than travelling to the hospital) and when I go they always ask me the same thing, they always ask me if I have an appointment. Why do I need an appointment if it is a walk in centre?

On the board in the walk in centre it lists that most sessions are only available by appointments, I feel this is a contradictions in terms; needing an appointment for a walk in centre.

Dear Paris131,

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your experience at Huyton walk in centre. Our service user feedback is very important to us.

The waiting room in Nutgrove Villa is used for many different services, including the Walk in Centre.

The majority of the services provided run an appointment system, it is therefore essential for the reception staff to determine which service a patient requires by establishing whether they have an appointment or not.

Kind regards,
